NYC Manhattan Club added to Concierge Collection

Written by Tim Krasniewski on . Posted in General DVC News

The Concierge Collection has a new option for members:  The Manhattan Club in the heart of New York City.

Members can now book One Bedroom villas at The Manhattan Club using Disney Vacation Club points.  Prices range from just 20 points per night for a weekday stay during the lowest season to 75 points per night for weekend stays during more popular periods.  The nights of December 20 through January 1 are blacked out with no availability.

$95 transaction fee applies to all reservations in the Concierge Collection.  Points purchased via resale after March 20, 2011 are not eligible for Concierge destinations.

Hotel information can be found of the website of The Manhattan Club.  Reservations using Disney Vacation Club points must be coordinated through Member Services.

Great location - Carnegie Hall is across the street. We stayed there in December and it is nice. The downside is the elevator service is slow, they are small and there aren't that many for the size of building. At peak times, you will have a wait.

The studio (available through World Passport Collection) is nice but harder to get since all DVC has in their contract on Concierge Collection is a 1 BR with a certain number allotted solely to DVC. The studios are open to all RCI members so the availability is much more limited.

Great location though, so we are excited about this option. The points are high in CC but much more manageable in the WP Collection.

Member services told me that the studios via WPC are 16 points Sun-Thur and 27 Fri-Sat nights. Much cheaper than the point values via CC. But, you are fighting against all other RCI members for those rooms vs just DVC members for those 1BR blocked off for DVC. We managed to get in by booking at 11 months out by trying starting at 11:55 pm the night before reservations were to open for our dates. My wife got the reservation at 11:59 pm the night before the window was to open. I guess their server time was off. :)

How does the booking work online? I can't figure it out.

I was looking for it last week online and didn't see it at all. It shows up under resort list but not under search for availability. (Exact titles of tabs escape me right now.). I was told if there was availability it would appear in search screen. The only way I could even see the resort was to look at the list of resorts. That was for World Passport Collection. I would just call.
