DL Theme Park News
As Disney California Adventure's Cars Land opens to the public the resort will implement a new exclusive benefit for Disney hotel guests including Disney Vacation Club members.
Throughout the park's billion-dollar makeover, Disney has experimented with different exclusive perks for guests at its three resort hotels. In 2010 hotel guests were granted early admission to Disney California Adventure to obtain FASTPASSES for the new World of Color night time show. In 2011 guests received immediate use FASTPASSES to provide easier access to the likes of Ariel's Undersea Adventure and the newly-renovated Star Tours.
The 2012 opening of Cars Land brings a new concept: daily early entry priviledges at the two Disneyland theme parks. Beginning June 18, 2012 registered guests at the three Disney resort hotels--including the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel--will benefit from Extra Magic Hour a the theme parks. Extra Magic Hour will provide one hour exclusive access for resort guests. With park openings scheduled for 9am most days, hotel guests can gain admission as early as 8am.
The schedule is as follows:
Disneyland Park: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
Disney California Adventure Park: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Annual passholders also receive an Early Entry perk, but on the opposite schedule. Passholders gain early admission to Disneyland on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and California Adventure on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Extra Magic Hour may prove to be the path of least resistance for guests wishing to visit Cars Land in particular. Enormous demand is anticipated and Disney plans to limit guest access to the land itself. As the operating day progresses, guests may be required to wait in a queue to merely enter the Cars Land, with additional waits to experience its three new attractions.
Only guests of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel are eligible for the Extra Magic Hour, limiting demand for a short period before locals, passholders and day guests arrive.

Even the baby slept in

But I guess for the Radiator Springs we will have to do it.

While it would be nice if the Disneyland Express shuttles were free for Disney Hotel guests, Disney's Magical Express is not owned or operated by Disney but by Mears Transportation. Although it is very nice to be greeted and checked in by a Disney CM right at the airport.
