it seems to be working. DVC is really pushing the non-DVC resort vacation packages in all of their current advertising and from the people I've talked to who are considering purchasing DVC, they are willing to buy from DVC at double the price of the resale market! They have bought into the argument that resale purchases are less valuable because they can't be used on disney cruises, etc. DVC sales are up 18% fom last year (Feb to Feb). I think it is an ingenius marketing strategy, focusing on vacation packages that are truly overpriced if you use vacation points vs cash. Kudos to DVC for resurrecting a timeshare industry that was dead in the water 2 years ago.
