Direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points climbed 9.2% in August 2016 compared to the prior month. Excluding sales for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, 148,169 DVC points were sold in August.
The 148,169 points sold in August is slightly less than the 153,344 points that direct sales have averaged so far in 2016. But it exceeds the 137,360 points that monthly sales averaged for the same DVC resorts in all of 2015.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows — In August 2016, 126,213 points were sold for the Polynesian Villas. So far in 2016, the resort has averaged 129,430 in monthly sales and has exceeded 100,000 points in all but one month. By comparison, in 2015 the Polynesian averaged only 76,867 points in monthly sales and exceeded the 100,000 point level only one time.
The Polynesian has sold over 1,890,000 (46.9%) of its 4,032,720 total points and it has about 2,060,000 points left to sell to the general public. One Guaranteed Week deed was sold in August 2016, but Disney Vacation Development also bought back one Guaranteed Week deed at the original purchase price. Thus, the number of Guaranteed Week deeds sold remains at 88.
At the current rate of sales, the Polynesian will sell out in about 16 months, or approximately December 2017.
Disney Vacation Development has declared 218 studios and 16 bungalows for the DVC inventory. There are still 142 studios and 4 bungalows that have not yet been declared. In terms of points, 2,535,836 points (62.88%) is now officially part of the Polynesian’s DVC inventory.
Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas — Sales data in August 2016 for Aulani is not yet available. In May, June, and July 2016 only 48,106 points, 43,578 points, and 32,829 points, respectively, were sold, well below the 66,208 points Aulani has averaged since sales for the resort started to be tracked in May 2014.
The sales data includes all nine DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds, and the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances.
