Two Disney Vacation Club resorts have been evacuated and theme park hours adjusted as Hurricane Dorian slowly makes its way along the Atlantic coast.
Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort are both currently closed with guests and cast members evacuated to safer locations. The Vero Beach resort closed at 6pm on Sunday, September 1 and Hilton Head shut down as of 12 noon on Tuesday, September 2, 2019.
No estimate has been provided for re-opening. Updates will be provided after the storm has passed and resort staff members have time to fully assess the condition of the property.
Meanwhile, Walt Disney World will adjust operating hours on Tuesday, September 3. Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom will both close for the day at 2:00pm. Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney Springs plan to cease operations at 3:00pm.
Guests staying in the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Cabins of Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, Bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Fort Wilderness Campground have been relocated to alternate accommodations.
The Disney After Hours scheduled for Animal Kingdom on September 3 has been cancelled. Ticket holders can request a refund or exchange their ticket for several alternative events including another Disney After Hours, tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, or for a 1-day park hopper pass.
Theme park dining reservations will be honored up to one hour prior to closing and resort restaurant reservations through 5:30pm. Cancellation penalties for all dining reservations have been waived through September 3.

As of 9am eastern on September 3, Hurricane Dorian is currently a Category 3 storm. Forecasters anticipate it moving in a north-northeast path along the Atlantic coast. Walt Disney World may be far enough inland to receive minimal impact from the storm. However, the Vero Beach and Hilton Head Island resorts may incur damage from the rain, high winds and storm surge caused by the weather event.
