Airlines Force DME Changes

WDW Transportation News

Since 2005 Walt Disney World guests utilizing Disney's Magical Express (DME) airport transportation have been able to check all of their luggage at the resort, and then have it seamlessly transported to the airport.  Unfortunately airline policy changes have forced Disney to alter their own procedures.

DME passengers are now limited to ONE (1) piece of checked luggage per passenger when checking bags at a Disney resort hotel.  This change was necessitated by airline policies which limit passengers to one checked bag per passenger with fees for each additional piece.

Guests with more than one piece of checked baggage per person are required to check-in at the airport.

This policy change applies to departures only and does not impact arrival procedures.  The DME staff will still claim all properly tagged baggage from Orlando International Airport for arriving guests and transport them to partcipating Disney resort hotels.
