Where are the Trash/Recycle areas?

The trash room is located on the first floor of the villa wing, around the corner from the elevator.

Where are the laundry facilities for people staying in Studios?

The guest laundry is located on the first floor, around the corner from the elevators. A hotel room key is not required in order to access. 

Guest must provide their own laundry detergent.  Single-load boxes are available for sale in the laundry room.

Does the Grand Californian have WiFi?

Yes, wireless Internet service is provided and it is free for Disney Vacation Club members.

Is there a separate check-in area for villa guests?

No. Villa guests check-in at the front desk of the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa.

What can you tell me about the rooms at Villas at Grand Californian?

There are no fans in the rooms due to the milder climate.

The beds have duvet covers instead of bedspreads.

Sofabeds in the Studio villas are queen size rather than double size.

One Bedroom units (and larger) have complimentary robes in the closets.

One Bedroom villas have two bathrooms while Two Bedroom villas have three bathrooms.

Are there any grills available for member use?

Yes.  There are two gas grills located on the ground floor outside the villa wing.  Upon entering the villa wing, proceed past the elevators and at the rear of the building. 

Grill tools are available to borrow at the lobby concierge desk.

Use of grills and grill tools is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Are DVD rentals available at the Grand Californian?

Yes. DVDs can be obtained from the lobby concierge desk.  Rental period is one day.  This service is complimentary for Disney Vacation Club members. 

Can World of Color be viewed from the Grand Californian?

Yes.  Approximately 40% of the villa rooms face Disney California Adventure with many providing an acceptable view of the popular nighttime show.  The soundtrack can be heard by tuning in to the designated resort TV station.

Guests can also visit a dedicated viewing plaform on the top floor of the hotel.  Room key is required to access the platform.  The show soundtrack is played on nearby speakers and restrooms are available.  Note that the viewing angle from this platform is less than ideal. 

How to Grand Californian guests access the theme parks?

Guests at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel have exclusive access to a side entrance to Disney California Adventure.  From the hotel lobby, follow the signs leading to the theme park.

To reach Disneyland, guests have two primary alternatives.  The first is to enter Disney California Adventure via the side entrance noted above, walk through DCA and exit via its front entrance, cross the plaza and enter Disneyland

The second route consists of walking through Downtown Disney to the main theme park entrance plaza and then entering Disneyland directly.  From the hotel lobby, follow the "Disneyland" directional signs to approach the park in this manner.
