Via Facebook, "Humphrey's Unofficial Wilderness Lodge Page" has reported that the "Wonders of the Lodge" tour has been discontinued. The activity was a 1-hour complimentary walking tour of the resort, providing information on the history and backstory of Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Within the discussion, a post attrbuted to "Ranger Jack" Scholbe confirmed that his "current role as Greeter / Ranger has been eliminated for the unforseen future." Scholbe has worked at Walt Disney World for nearly 30 years, including 22 at the Wilderness Lodge. He hopes to transfer to another position at the theme park empire. 



Hotel rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge remain closed with no announced reopening date. The two Disney Vacation Club components--Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins--are currently open to members.

Earlier this week, Walt Disney World's entertainment deparment was descimated by widespread Cast Member layoffs. Among those who lost their jobs are street performers at Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios and the full cast of shows including Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor and Legends of the Lion King. Also let go were Cast Members from Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort & Campground.
