BoardWalk earns AAA Four Diamond Award

General DVC News

The American Automobile Association (AAA) has published its list of Four Diamond Award lodgings for 2010.  New to the list is Disney's BoardWalk Inn, which joins three other resorts which host Disney Vacation Club accommodations.

The other DVC properties on the Four Diamond Award list for 2010 are:

  • Disney's Beach Club (7th conscutive year)
  • Disney's Contemporary Resort (3rd consecutive year)
  • Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (9th consecutive year)

Walt Disney World received the coveted Four Diamond Award for three other resorts as well:

  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (21st consecutive year)
  • Disney's Polynesian Resort (3rd consecutive year)
  • Disney's Yacht Club Resort (19th consecutive year)

The Walt Disney World Swan Resort, operated by Starwood, also made the list for the second consecutive year.

AAA evaluates accommodations against dozens of criteria before awarding an annual Diamond certification ranging from One Diamond to Five Diamonds.  In order to receive the Four Diamond Award, resorts accommodations and amenities must be deemed "upscale" in most regards.  High quality furnishings and decore are expected in public ares as well as guest rooms.

Disney Vacation Club accommodations are not specifically evaluated as part of the rating process, but public areas and shared amenities at the DVC resorts are included in the hotel's Diamond Award determination.
