Magical Express Changes

Starting on March 30, 2009, Disney's Magical Express will no longer offer luggage retrieval service for arrivals to Orlando International Airport after 10:00pm. Guests will have to get their own luggage at the baggage claim area and report to the Magical Express motor coach. They will then be transported to their on-site hotel. This will allow late-arriving guests to have access to their bags without any delays.

Luggage delivery service will still be provided to guests arriving at MCO from 5:00am until 10:00pm.

More Changes to DME Luggage Policies

In recent weeks Disney has been forced to alter its luggage handling processes for Disney's Magical Express due to policy changes enacted by the participating airlines.  Initial information suggested that Disney would only accept the number of bags designated as "free" by certain airlines.  Now it appears they have taken steps to make the changes a little more palatable for travelers.

Airlines Force DME Changes

Since 2005 Walt Disney World guests utilizing Disney's Magical Express (DME) airport transportation have been able to check all of their luggage at the resort, and then have it seamlessly transported to the airport.  Unfortunately airline policy changes have forced Disney to alter their own procedures.

DTD Bus Depot Rehab

The Downtown Disney Marketplace bus depot will be closed from September 17 – September 30, 2007.  Bus service to DTD will be handled out of the Pleasure Island bus stops during this period.  Reminder that both Old Key West and Saratoga Springs provide boat service to and from DTD.  Old Key West can be reached via a walking path near the West Side, while Saratoga Springs accessible via paths from both the Marketplace and West Side.
