An article in today's Orlando Sentinel details how Florida lawmakers are debating whether to adjust the manner in which taxes are applied to room reservations within the state. The new guidelines could be extended into the realm of timeshare trades, but some officials are amenable to working with timeshare industry officials to avoid such a move.
Last week Prospera Hotels submitted their initial proposals to build two hotels in the Anaheim GardenWalk complex, located just across Harbor Boulevard from Disneyland. Could there be a Disney connection to these two projects?
Back in March Disney announced its intention to create a value-oriented retail / lodging complex near the new Western Way access road from State Route 429. Recently additional details about this project have been revealed...including its name: Flamingo Crossings.
A few weeks ago we reported on changes to the waitlist process for DVC reservations. Effective immediately all waitlist requests are automatically booked when the accommodation becomes available. Additionally, any other pending waitlist requests will be cancelled. (Previously members could opt to have a DVC representative contact them via telephone to confirm or decline the new accommodation, and all other waitlist requests would remain in force.)
This past Thursday Hilton executives were in Central Florida to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for their new 1500 room facility which will operate under both the Waldorf-Astoria and Hilton names. The facility is being constructed adjacent to Fairfield’s Bonnet Creek timeshare, just south of Walt Disney World.
