DVC Releases Point Charts for 2021, Increases Calendar to 7 Seasons

DVC Policies & Procedures

Disney Vacation Club has published the points charts for 2021, increasing the number of individual seasons throughout the year from five to seven for Walt Disney World destinations.

Gone are the familiar season names of Adventure, Dream, Choice, Magic and Premier. In their place are a series of 7 unnamed "Travel Period" which provide greater variety of costs throughout the year. The most obvious changes appear to be a decrease in costs for early-September dates before the start of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and an increase in the cost of highest-point dates around Easter and Christmas.

Other subtle adjustments have also been made with the expanded number of Travel Periods, however our initial review suggests there are no radical realignments similar to what DVC attempted a year ago which would have significantly redistributed points between Deluxe Studio, One Bedroom and Two Bedroom Villas.

Disney Vacation Club's official statement and links to the 2021 charts follow:

After a thorough analysis of Member travel patterns and Resort demand, Disney Vacation Club will be adjusting the 2021 Vacation Points Chart in order to encourage travel throughout the year with the goal of improving availability.

The 2021 Vacation Points Chart will feature 7 seasons that offer a wide range of options. Travel periods with greater demand will require more Points and travel periods with less demand will require fewer Points. However, those Members with more flexible travel schedules can enjoy stays using fewer Points than the previous year. For example, Members can enjoy stays for fewer Points than the year before when traveling in early September and during the summer period. On the other hand, Members who wish to travel in certain weeks in October and November will require more Points than the year before.

These changes only affect Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. They do not impact Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas.
