Complimentary Blizzard Beach admission for inconvenienced Poly guests

Polynesian Villas

The Nanea Volcano Pool at Disney's Polynesian Resort will soon be going under the refurbishment knife but resort guests will receive some compensation for the closure.

The signature Polynesian pool is scheduled to close in late-July 2014 and will not re-open until sometime in 2015.  Upcoming resort guests are being notified that they will receive free single-day admission to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park as compensation for the closure.  A portion of the notice reads as follows:

"We anticipate the Nanea Volcano Pool and Slide to close for enhancement in late July through early 2015. Should you find the pool unavailable during your stay, one complimentary ticket to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, our watery winter wonderland featuring waterslides, a wave pool, water play areas for the kids and more, will be given to each member of your party. To ensure you have a seamless visit to the Park, we will provide transportation to a dedicated check-in at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park where you will receive your complimentary tickets and towels."

No specific information has been revealed detailing planned changes to the Polynesian pool.  Speculation centers around the addition of at least one hot tub and possible removal or modification of the volcano feature.

The resort's leisure pool is expected to remain open during refurbishment of the Nanea Volcano Pool.
