According to the Disney Parks Blog, 'AMA 'AMA is on course to reopen in late 2022. The resort's lone signature dining spot has been closed since early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reopened space will feature a new menu, as well as changes to the venue itself:

Through collaborative efforts led by Disney Imagineer Jeanette Lomboy, guests with a careful eye will notice familiar details seemingly left by generations of family members, including our own beloved Aunty and Uncle, who lived in this space and continued to expand on it over time. New light fixtures inspired by traditional Hawaiian fish baskets and an alluring central light fixture composed of fin-like elements that swim above the entrance, enhance the connection between the restaurant and its namesake, the ‘ama‘ama fish –historically the most abundant and vital fish of Hawai‘i. We are excited to welcome you and your ʻohana back to ʻAMA ʻAMA to celebrate and enhance your vacation dining experience.

Upon its reopening, 'AMA 'AMA will be available during dinner hours only. Previously the restaurant also served breakfast to guests. The culinary team plans to focus on dishes, cocktails, wine and desserts which are inspired by the hawaiian culture. Menu details will be provided closer to the restaurant's debut.

Details regarding the reopening date and reservation availability will be released in the coming months.
