Press Event in October?

Website TouringPlans.com is speculating that Disney may be revisiting its past practice of holding major press events in the fall to announce upcoming plans.

TouringPlans.com notes that the previously scheduled Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party has been canceled the night of October 3, 2008.  This move is just one of several that has fueled speculation that a press gathering will occur in early October.

According to TouringPlans:

Disney has been known in years past for having a major press event hoopla at the beginning of October which coincides with the start of the company's fiscal year. This is usually a massive multi-park press event that announces upcoming attractions and plans for the next several years.

One of the projects yet to be formally acknowledged by Disney is the so-called Disney Vacation Club Bay Lake Tower which has been under construction for nearly two years now adjacent to the Contemporary Resort  Tower.

Tickets are no longer being sold for the October 3rd MNSSHP and those already holding tickets for that date are encouraged to contact Disney to  re-schedule or obtain a refund.
