Disney's Polynesian Village resort will be down one dining option beginning in late summer 2022.
Kona Cafe will close for refurbishment beginning August 15, 2022. There is no word on how long the refurbishment will last or what changes are planned.
Kona Cafe is one of the Polynesian's table service venues. The menu focuses on American and seafood cuisine including the popular Tonga Toast at breakfast, sushi rolls, poke bowls, burgers and other sandwiches.
During the closure, Kona Island will accept mobile orders during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort was the subject of extensive renovations in 2020 and 2021 including refurbishment of all Disney Vacation Club villas. Construction recently began on a multi-story tower which will bring additional DVC rooms and a new pool to the resort in 2024.
