Standard disclaimer:  Despite WDWMagic frequently referring to the images as being of the "DVC Tower", Disney has not yet confirmed whether or not this structure will house DVC units.

While DVC may brand itself "Disney's best kept secret", to many the concept of DVC villas at the Contemporary is anything but a secret.  Demolition of the Contemporary's North Garden wing began nearly a year ago and construction on a new facility is well under way.  Many permits have been uncovered which site "DVC @ Contemporary" or similar nomenclature.  Still enough information has emerged to cast some doubt on the project and Disney has yet to make any sort of official statement about the Contemporary construction project.  Until now?

Frequent DVC message board poster “Greenban” (a.k.a. “Greenbanned”) has shared some interesting information obtained from an unnamed source within DVC:

Last week Disney blogger Jim Hill posted a look back at some original resort concepts for the Bay Lake / Seven Seas Lagoon area which never came to be.  Among the once-planned projects was the Venetian Resort penciled-in for a plot of land between Disney’s Polynesian Resort and (what is now) Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.  However this land has proved numerous times to be too unstable for construction on the scale of a new resort hotel. 

Citing a “pretty reliable source” DVC resale broker Shontell Crawford, appearing on Lou Mongello’s The WDW Radio Show podcast, indicated that the forthcoming construction at the Disney’s Contemporary Resort will not be DVC villas.  Despite the concept art that has been posted frequently on the Internet and rampant rumors on Disney message boards, the unnamed source insists that any construction project slated for the site of the North Garden Wing will not be a Disney Vacation Club development.
