Even the most avid Disney theme park fans are always looking for something new and different during their stays. As much fun as Soarin' may be, by the 50th (or 150th) ride, the thrill isn't quite the same as it once was.
One of the unsung diversions during a Disney Vacation Club stay is a visit to the resort Community Hall.
Most--but not all--DVC resorts feature a Community Hall. The Community Hall is an activity center where folks can find some entertainment outside of the Disney theme parks. The target audience includes children and older family members who may wish to join in the fun. Community Halls offer video games, board games, foosball, ping pong, art stations, Disney movies and TV presentations and a wide range of scheduled activities for various age groups.

Scheduled activities are also the norm for Disney Community Halls. During this particular visit pillow case decorating was planned.
Many activites are offered for a nominal fee. The pillow cases are priced at $6 each for DVC members and $7 for non-members. Cast Members provide the pillowcases (many designs available), fabric markers and ample workspace.

Other Community Hall activities include ceramics, photo frames, Mickey tie die shirts, birdhouses and more. Consult the resort activity schedule provided at check-in for details on when specific activities are offered.
Some ceramic projects available
While the theme parks will always be the primary draw for Disney trips, parents looking for a memorable vacation experience should consider a visit (or two, or three) to the resort Community Hall. A custom ceramic bank or t-shirt created by your little Disney fan may just provide more lasting memories than another spin on the teacups.
