Theme Park Reservations Begin June 22; Free MagicBands Ending

Beginning next week, Disney Vacation Club members and hotel guests with confirmed room reservations can begin pre-booking admission to the Disney theme parks,

On June 22, the Disney Park Pass System will launch, providing guest with the ability to reserve admission to each of the four Florida parks. The roll-out will occur in stages, beginning with hotel guests on the 22nd. On June 26 reservations expand to Annual Passholders without a resort stay. And finally, on June 28 those currently holding theme park tickets will be able to reserve. 

Disney plans to operate the Park Pass System at least through September 21, 2021. Information provided did not specifically indicate how far in advance park reservations can be made. 



In order to make a theme park reservaton, guests must have a My Disney Experience account and valid theme park admission. A hotel reservation is also required for the earlier booking window. 

Guests will be able to make one park reservation per person, per day. Park hopping is temporarly suspended, though Disney hopes to be able to bring it back in the near future. 

Friends and family members will be able to create a "party" to guarantee the same park entry time for all. 

New ticket purchases and cash hotel reservations are currently suspended. Disney plans to lift those restrictions on June 28, allowing guests to again purchase new tickets and book vacations into 2021. 



Disney has also announced that it intends to discontinue free MagicBands for all arrivals January 1, 2021 and after. Disney plans to add new features to the My Disney Experience smartphone app which will mirror the MagicBand functionality. Guests may opt to purchase a MagicBand for their trip, or utilize the smartphone app or Key to the World card.
