With artifacts and displays covering every aspect of Walt Disney's life and career, a visitor can easily spend three or four hours at the museum and still not see everything. Many of the Oscars awarded to Disney are on display, including the special one he was given for Snow White and the Seven Drawfs that had a regular sized Oscar and seven tiny Oscars.

Original artwork by Disney and the artists who worked for him over the years show how the art of animation evolved during his lifetime. On display, too, are many items that show Disney's movie making talents, from the "Alice" movies shorts in the 1920s to Academy Award winning films, such as "Mary Poppins", in the 1960s.

On display is a large model of Disneyland. The model shows Disneyland as it was in 1966, including a few items that were on the drawing board at the time of Disney's death in December 1966.

The Walt Disney Family Museum has a small cafe, ideal when taking a short break from viewing the exhibits. Of course, the museum also has a small gift shop in case visitors want a souvenir of their visit.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is located at 104 Montgomery Street in the Presidio of San Francisco. There is parking adjacent to the museum. The museum is closed every Tuesday. Admission is $20 for adults and $12 for youths ages 6 to 17. Currently, Disney Vacation Club members receive a discount of $3 per ticket with proof of membership.
