Waitlist Policies Also Change

DVC Policies & Procedures

Today saw the introduction of bookings 11 and 7 months from the arrival date rather than the departure date.  Now we've received word that changes have been made to the waitlist process as well.

In the past DVC has given members two different options for waitlisting resort reservations.  They could either waitlist for the entire trip (arrival to departure) or for each individual day of the stay.  Using the latter day-by-day waitlist option is the riskier option of the two since there is always a chance that certain days in the middle of the vacation period would never come available.  But it was also the option most likely to yield success.  As each individual night opened-up, it would be booked in the member's name rather than waiting for the entire trip duration to become available.

Effective June 20th the day-by-day waitlist has been eliminated.  According to DVC Member Services, the only option available to members is be to waitlist for the entire trip duration at once.

Existing waitlist requests will not be impacted by this change, but no additional day-by-day waitlist requests will be accepted from this point forward.
