As of January 2, 2008, the revised banking guidelines were to go into effect.  From that point forward, members would be able to bank 100% of their points in the first 8 months of their Use Year.  Well, according to a report on our forums, DVC may have changed the rules a few days early.

The 2008-2009 Vacation Planner is on its way to members, albeit somewhat later than in prior years.  Apparently its delay was prompted by another wave of program changes contained within.

The 2007 Condo Association Meetings began at 11am eastern today.  The DISBoards' WebmasterDoc attended the meetings and posted near-realtime reports via his Blackberry.  The meetings revealed a number of new benefits for DVC members in 2008.

“Requests are noted but not guaranteed.”  That phrase appears on the bottom of Disney Vacation Club reservation confirmations and similar statements appear on DVCMember.com, in the Public Offering Statement and are verbally communicated by Member Services representatives.  It’s DVC’s way of saying that you can request a Downtown Disney view at Saratoga Springs or an Epcot view at the Beach Club Villas, but whether you receive such a room or not is in the hands of the resort staff.  At least, in some cases it’s in the hands of the resort staff.  After all, at the BoardWalk you can book a Preferred BoardWalk View and be guaranteed the picturesque view of Crescent Lake.  And guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas have their own Savanna View category designed to put them in front of the animals.  Why not all resorts?  Well, first let’s take a brief look at the evolution of this animal we’ll call “booking categories” in the history of DVC.

For the benefit of those who may be sitting at home wondering if their computer is at fault, the DVC site has actually been down for several days now.  And even when the site was functional late last week, all vacation planning information was inaccessible.  At this time there is no word from Disney as to when the problems will be resolved.
