DVC has set December 4 as the date of the 2007 Condominium Association Meeting. The meeting will be held at an as-yet-undetermined time and location somewhere on Walt Disney World property. This is the first time in recent memory in which DVC has opted to hold a consolidated meeting covering all 8 of the DVC properties. In years past DVC has held separate meetings for each of the Vacation Club resorts over the course of several days.
As of the first of the year DVC began collecting additional demographic information on non-member guests staying in DVC accommodations. The January 10th Vacation Magic email update finally included a formal statement from DVC, but it did little to clarify the situation.
Last week we reported on a rumor that DVC Member Services would begin asking for names, addresses and phone numbers of all listed guests when booking a trip using DVC points. While many members have reported that they were asked for additional information when booking trips after January 1st, DVC has been somewhat inconsistent in the application of this new rule. Upon questioning one Member Services representative as to whether addresses and phone numbers were required for listed guests, the response received was “oh, no…we just need their names so that it can be passed to the resort for printing on a room key.”
The Fall 2007 issue of Vacation Magic has arrived and it has confirmed many of the rumors reported here over the past several weeks. Additionally the magazine mentions other changes which had did not escape via the rumor mill.
