Hawaii Construction Begins

In November Disney broke-ground on it's forthcoming resort hotel / Disney Vacation Club timeshare on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.  But since then things have been relatively quite...until now.

The Associated Press is reporting that work has begun on the Disney resort scheduled to open in 2011.  According to the AP:

Disney said Thursday that the work at Ko Olina includes establishing where the foundations will be placed and laying underground utilities.

Earlier this week DVCNews.com friend Werner Weiss of Yesterland.com contacted the nearby Marriott resort and staffers confirmed that the Disney site is active.  Marriott guests have even reported some disturbances from construction vehicles and work underway on the 21-acre parcel.

The full Associated Press report can be found on the website of Florida station WWSB.
