Hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas at the Grand Californian will reopen on April 29, 2021, one day before Disneyland and Disney California Adventure return to normal operations.

Incoming resort guests are asked to complete the online check-in process available up to 5 days prior to arrival via Disneyland.com. A Health and Safety Acknowledgement is also published online. Those who enable text messaging will receive a notification when their room is ready. Room keys must be retrieved at the front desk. These keys double as a contactless payment option throughout the stay. Departing guests may simply vacate their room by the appointed time (11:00am for DVC points stays) without notifying the front desk or resort staff.

Available resort dining options include GCH Craftsman Bar and Grill and Hearthstone Lounge. Sit-down dining will be provided along with a new mobile order process. Resort pools will be open to guests, along with the nearby Downtown Disney shopping district.

Approved face coverings must be worn in all public areas by guests over the age of 2. Masks may only be removed in public when swimming or when eating and drinking from a stationary position.

Hotel reservations will be available beginning April 15. Normal booking guidelines apply to Disney Vacation Club owners using points. Visit the the members-only website or contact Member Services.

Guests planning to visit the theme parks must have park tickets and a confirmed park reservation. Disneyland's version of the Park Pass system is expected to launch on April 12. Current state regulations allow only California residents to access the theme parks in parties which span no more than 3 households.

Orange County is currently operating under the state's orange reopening tier, allowing for 25% capacity for theme parks and 50% for restaurants. Governor Gavin Newsom currently plans to fully reopen the state by June 15, albeit with mask mandates remaining in place.
