Additional AKV villas declared for DVC inventory

Animal Kingdom Villas

For the first time since April 15, 2010, Disney Vacation Development (DVD) has made a new declaration of Units at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas.

On February 23, 2011, DVD declared 14 Units containing 8 lock-off two-bedroom villas and 8 dedicated two-bedroom villas for a total of 16 two-bedroom villas.  With this latest declaration--which adds 260,640 points to the DVC inventory--DVD has now declared 70.34% of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas for Disney Vacation Club members to book using points.

Before selling points, DVD must declare Units and legally add their points to the Condominium Association.  It has now declared a total of 46 dedicated studios, 269 two-bedroom villas, and 14 Grand Villas for the DVC inventory at the Animal Kingdom Villas.  Still left to be declared at the Animal Kingdom Villas are an additional 117 two-bedroom villas and 8 Grand Villas.

Based on recent deeds filed and recorded with Orange County Comptroller, it appears that DVD is currently offering the September Use Year to new members if they do not specifically request a different year.  However, as seen in the chart below, the December Use Year is still the most common at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas while April is the least common UY.
