New owners at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas should start flexing their dialing fingers early Wednesday morning. Members Services is likely to be very busy all day servicing members looking to book this resort for the first time.
Following are a few notes to aid in your booking preparations:
- Call as early as possible and be ready to wait. The phone lines open at 9am eastern. Room supply will be very limited in the first few months, so be sure to call as early in the morning as possible and remain on hold until you speak with Member Services. Hanging up to try again later in the day will negatively impact your chances of securing a room.
- Members were originally told that the rooms would be available for stays beginning on September 1, 2007. Since then word has begun to circulate that they may accept reservations as early as July 2, 2007. At this time there is nothing posted on DVCMember.com indicating when stays at AKV may commence.
- All of the rooms available to guest in 2007 and 2008 are in Jambo House—the current Animal Kingdom Lodge facility. Rooms in Jambo House will have a different configuration from the model rooms currently on display at Saratoga Springs. Most notably, the One Bedroom units in Jambo House only have one bathroom and the Two Bedroom villas have two bathrooms.
- Concierge level rooms will not be available for use until May 2008.
- AKV owners can book their Home resort up to 11 months in advance. When they begin taking reservations on 5/16, owners will be able to book dates through the night of Wednesday, April 15, 2008.
Reservations at AKV will open up to owners at all other DVC resorts on Wednesday June 6th.
