Official Details on SAB Refurb

Following-up on our previous story, the Yacht and Beach Club's Stormalong Bay pool complex will be subject to refurbishment work starting on January 5, 2009 and running into late March. Disney Vacation Club sources have confirmed that the work will be completed in phases, with portions of the complex not undergoing work expected to remain open. Official statement follows...

Stormalong Bay Rehab Scheduled

Disney Vacation Club Member Services advisers have begun informing members of a scheduled rehab of the Yacht / Beach Clubs' Stormalong Bay pool complex in early 2009.

Separate BCV Check-in Eliminated

Since the fall of 2007, Disney has been performing trials with a separate check-in desk near the Beach Club Villas specifically for Disney Vacation Club members. That trial has ended with the resort reverting back to its original setup.

Stormalong Bay Slide Closure Dated

Disney has announced that the shipwreck pool slide at the Beach Club's Stormalong Bay will be closed for refurbishment from May 5 - 11, 2008. During this period Disney will provide shuttle service between the Beach Club and BoardWalk for those who wish to make use of the Luna Park slide. All other areas of Stormalong Bay will remain open during the maintenance window.
