Two projects filed with the Central Florida Tourism Overight District suggest new tenants may be coming to vacant locations on Disney's BoardWalk

Disneys BoardWalk Villas Refurb 2024 June 1

Website WDWMagic.com has uncovered evidence of new additions coming to the Crescent Lake shopping district. The first, code named "Project Amazon", is listed at the former home of Big River Grill & Brewing Works. The restaurant abruptly closed back in January 2024 and has remained vacant since. The other project, dubbed "Project Bubbles", appears to be coming to the former home of Promenade Fine Art Gallery which closed in October of last year.

Disney has not made any announcements rergarding plans for either space. The vague project names may or may not have any bearing on the new tenants. WDWMagic speculates that Project Bubbles could be related to a bath & body retailer or a champaign bar.

Also vacant at the BoardWalk is the former home to Jellyrolls Original Dueling Piano Showcase which closed in April 2025.

The last 5-6 years have seen a great deal of turnover at BoardWalk retail space. Along with the losses of Promenade Art Gallery, Big River Grill and Jellyrolls, ESPN Club closed in favor of The Cake Bake Shop, BoardWalk Bakery transitioned to BoardWalk Deli, the defunct Ample Hills Creamery changed to BoardWalk Ice Cream and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs took over the fomer Boardwalk To Go stand.
