Golf Cart, Bicycle, RV Policies Updated Ahead of Cabin Reopening

Ft Wilderness Cabins

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort has revised several policies related to use of golf cards, bicycles and related items on Walt Disney World property. 

Disneys Fort Wilderness Pioneer Hall

Fort Wilderness is home to more than 360 free standing cabins and hundreds of campsites. The Cabins are currently being updated, with long terms plans of rolling them into the Disney Vacation Club timeshare program. In the lead up to the July 1, 2024 reopening of the first cabins, Disney has revised several policies related to use of recreational equipment on its property. 

Golf Carts

Each cabin will have a parking space to accommodate one golf cart. Golf carts will be available to rent from Disney on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made by calling 407-824-2724.



Guests are also able to bring their own golf cart for use at Fort Wilderness. Beginning June 1, guests must secure liability insurance with limits of $100,000 / $300,000 and provide proof upon arrival. A signed agreement and waiver is also required. 

General operating rules required golf cart drivers to be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver's license. Carts must remain on roadways and designated cart paths only. All passengers must have a seat and there is no standing or lap sitting permitted. Only golf-style carts are permitted; no off-road or ATV style vehicles. And the must be equipped with headlights and tail lights. 

Golf cart rentals from third-party vendors are prohibited. 

Bicycles

They must be manually powered; no motorized bikes are permitted. Bicycles must be equipped with headlights and tail lights, and may be used only on designated sidewalks and paths. All riders under the age of 16 must wear a helmet. 

RVs

Recreational vehicles are permitted in approved areas. RV rentals may be secured via one of the Disney Featured Providers. When renting via a featured provider, the guest does not need to be present when delivery is made. Cast Members will coordinate delivery, setup and return of rented RVs.

The first updated Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort will open on July 1st. Additional conversions will take place into the first half of 2025. Unspecified enhanacements are also planned for the resort's main pool area.
