While Walt Disney World typically tries to limit pool maintenance to the cool winter months, refurbishment work throughout Disney's Old Key West Resort is prompting closure of one facility just as the temperatures are rising.
The Turtle Pond pool at Old Key West will be closed from April to early July 2018. The closure impacts the pool itself, as well as nearby amenities including the Turtle Shack Snack Bar and Flying Fish Gameroom.
Three additional resort swimming holes will remain available to guests including the Sandcastle Pool located near the resort's Hospitality House, the South Point Pool and Miller's Road Pool.
Disney's Old Key West Resort is in the early stages of a multi-year renovation project. Buildings 30-33 in the Turtle Pond area have reopened to guests following significant interior renovations. Disney Vacation Club has released limited previews of the new room design including the photos above. One recent guest posted some images to PhotoBucket which can be accessed HERE.
Additional buildings along Turtle Pond Road are now closed for refurbishment.
