Over the next 3-6 months, exteriors of the longhouses will be subject to refurbishment throughout the Polynesian.
In recent weeks, crews have been spotted painting the outsides of several of the older longhouses at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. A recently-updated refurbishment notice confirms that the work will be taking place over the next several months:
Now through Fall 2024, work will take place to paint the exterior of buildings throughout Disney's Polynesian Village Resort & Bungalows, with Guest room balconies also being affected. Guests may see and hear painting work during daytime hours, typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The fall 2024 completion estimate suggest that the work will run until at least September, and potentially as late as December 2024. Disney will attempt to minimize the impact on guests. However, guests should expect to see hydraulic lift vehicles and work crews at various points throughout the resort.
Refurbishment projects may be halted or rescheduled depending upon weather conditions and other factors.
This comes as Disney is just about 6 months away from opening Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The new facility will add about 250 additonal villas to the Disney Vacation Club timeshare component, along with a new pool, dining venues and other amenities. Island Tower is scheduled to open December 17, 2024.
