Nearly a year after being installed at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the Disney-branded Amazon assistants are starting to appear in more Disney Vacation Club resorts.
Back in September 2021, Disney announced plans to bring Amazon's Echo Show devices to its hotel rooms and villas. It wasn't until late 2022 when they finally appeared at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Months later, they have finally arrived at other Walt Disney World resorts.
During recent visits, we spotted the "Hey, Disney" devices at both Disney's Riviera Resort and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
The devices are free for guest use. They allow Disney resort guests to easily access information regarding the Disney theme parks using voice commands. A question like "Hey Disney, what time does the Magic Kingdom close today?" will return theme park hours. The devices can also tell jokes, provide weather reports, and search for general information like the typical Echo Show. Check out our video showcasing some of the device features:
For those who are not interested in using the personal assistants, they can be easily turned-off or unplugged.
