Saratoga Springs room refurb on the horizon

Disney is ramping-up to begin a refurbishment of guest rooms at Disney's Sartoga Springs Resort & Spa in 2012.

On May 31, 2011, Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement with Orange County, Florida to make improvements to Saratoga Springs resort. The work is described simply as "Room Renovartion" (SIC.)

During the 2010 Condo Association Meeting, Disney Vacation Club representatives made brief mention of a refurbishment project planned for Saratoga Springs in 2012.  This permit filing signals the start of physical work at the resort itself.

According to a Disney Vacation Club source, exact details of the renovations have not yet been finalized.  However, the project is described as being "similar to the recent rehab at Disney's Old Key West Resort."

In all likelihood, a small number of villas at Saratoga Springs will be renovated in the coming months to serve as models for the refurbishment.  Designers and contractors will use the outcome of those initial rooms to finalize color schemes and materials to be used throughout the resort.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opened in May 2004.  The resort is currently home to over 800 villas in 18 buildings plus 60 standalone Treehouse Villas
