On August 4, 2011, Disney Vacation Development (DVD) declared 12 more Treehouse Villas for the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) inventory at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
This is the second declaration of Treehouse Villas that DVD has made in the last five weeks. Combined with the 30 Treehouse Villas that were declared in January 2009 and the 6 Treehouse Villas declared on June 30, 2011, 48 of the 60 Treehouse Villas are now part of the DVC inventory..
Given the current rate of sales at Saratoga Springs, this latest declaration was not unexpected. Sales have averaged about 66,000 points a month over the last four months, and the 181,050 points contained in the latest declaration should give DVD about three months' supply of points to support sales. If sales at Saratoga Springs increase in the coming months, which may happen as sales at BLT wind down, it may be necessary for DVD to declare the remaining 12 Treehouse Villas by November 2011.
