Saratoga Springs "Sold Out"; Incentives Ending Soon!

Saratoga Springs Resort
In Disney Vacation Club terms, "selling-out" a resort is a unique process.  After all, Old Key West "sold out" over a decade ago, and folks can still buy points at that resort from DVC today.  But by Disney's definition, after nearly 5 years of selling more than 800 rooms worth of points, Disney's Sartoga Springs Resort and Spa is finally sold out

We have been receiving reports for over a month now about Saratoga Springs being a various stages of "sell-out."  This isn't terribly uncommon given the nature of having points spread over 8 different Use Years.  A member looking for February Use Year points may be told they are "sold out", while a new member may have 3-4 different Use Years to choose from depending upon current inventory levels.

Disney's Right of First Refusal (ROFR) on resale transactions also impacts the process as it has the potential to put Saratoga Springs points back into the system.

But within the last few days, inventory levels have reached a point where DVC has formally suspended sales of new Saratoga Springs contracts.  From this point forward, DVC is no longer actively marketing contracts at Saratoga Springs to new membersThe entire sales focus has shifted to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas.

Current members can still add-on  points at Saratoga Springs, pending availability of their Use Year.  In fact, DVC has also left the incentive program in place for a short time.  DVC owners can add 50 or more points at Saratoga Springs for a net price of $94 per point ($104 less $10 discount) with no closing costs through July 15, 2008. Those adding 100 points or more are also eligible for the Disney Visa $500 reward.

After July 15th there is no guarantee that any discount incentives will remain in place for Saratoga Springs.  Past practice has been to offer points at full retail price (i.e. $104 for SSR) after the formal sell out has been reached.
