Travel + Leisure Magazine has Issued its World's Best Awards for 2011. Many Disney Vacation Club destinations fared well in the rankings, particularly Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Earlier this year Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge celebrated its 10th anniversary by collecting its first AAA Four Diamond award. Now the beloved Jambo House is the recipient of further industry accolades after being named Travel + Leisure's top family friendly destination in the US and Canada for 2011. The resort is recognized for its many unique, family-oriented features such as the 43-acre animal savanna, exclusive safari experiences and children's activity programs.
Travel + Leisure rankings are based upon the results of reader surveys. Respondents were asked to rank hotels upon four primary criteria: ambience, treatments, service and value.
In the 2010 survey, Animal Kingdom Lodge was ranked as the #3 family friendly destination.

Other noteworthy destinations on the family-friendly hotel list include The Sagamore hotel in New York (8) and Grand Wailea in Maui (9). Both are available to Disney Vacation Club members for points bookings through DVC's Concierge Collection.
Among other Disney-sponsored travel options, Disney Cruise Line was ranked #1 among Large-Ship Cruise Lines for Families and #4 among all Large-Ship Cruise Lines.
Adventures by Disney took home the award as #1 Tour Operator and Safari Outfitter for Families.
