Work has begun to convert the former Frontierland Shootin' Arcade to a Disney Vacation Club members-only lounge.
In late June 2024, the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade located in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom permanently closed. Several weeks prior, it was revealed that the space would be converted to a private lounge for Disney Vacation Club owners.
Plans to create the lounge were announced back in January, although the exact location went unrevealed for the next 5 months. This change comes as the Frontierland area undergoes a variety of changes. The Country Bear Musical Jamboree has been closed for several months to be updated with new animatronic figures and new songs. It is scheduled to officially reopen on July 17, 2024--the 69th anniversary of the opening of Disneyland in California.
Rumors suggest that Disney has been working on an expansion plan dubbed "Beyond Big Thunder", which would expand the park to a new area north of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
This will be the fourth DVC members-only lounge, joining the space in EPCOT's Imagination Pavilion, Top of the World Lounge above Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Star View Station - a Disney Vacation Club lounge in Disneyland's Tomorrowland. No opening date or concept art has been released for the Frontierland location.
