Top of the World Lounge to Reopen Soon

Bay Lake Tower

The premier fireworks viewing site, located at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort will soon reopen to Disney Vacation Club owners.

Top of the World Lounge

More than two years after its pandemic-induced closure, Top of the World Lounge remains unavailable to guests. That will change as DVC has revealed plans to reopen the facility.

Top of the World Lounge will be reopening soon to welcome Members “home” at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort! This one-of-a-kind lounge perched on the 16th floor, offers spectacular views of Magic Kingdom Park for Members and their Guests. Check back soon for more details including opening dates.

No other details have been revealed at this time.

The outdoor viewing plaform reopened twice in 2021 around Independence Day and New Year's Eve, exclusively for guests at Bay Lake Tower.  However, the indoor lounge has remained shuttered since March 2020.

In recent years, the lounge has been available on a nightly basis to all DVC members with current reservations at a Walt Disney World resort. The lounge provides limited seating for Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing, a full bar and a menu of snacks available for purchase. There is no cost to DVC owners and their guests wishing to visit the space.

Earlier this week, Walt Disney World eliminated the last of its on-property mask mandates, and reintroduced interactive character meet experiences. These moves effectively signaled the end of Disney's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Since reopening, Disney has dealt with staffing shortages which may have contributed to the lounge's extended closure. A number of Disney restaurants still do not have reopening dates including Victoria and Alberts and 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
