Construction continues on the two new eateries on Disney's BoardWalk as The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs inch closer to opening.
Nearly a year since revealing that Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs would move into the former location of BoardWalk To Go, the quick service venue appears ready to make its debut. While hidden behind planters, the building exterior appears to be complete with awnings and signage installed, along with a fresh coat of paint.
Workers in construction garb could be seen inside the building, hopefully putting finishing touches on the facilities. The stand was originally expected to open in late 2023, but later pushed to an unrevealed date this year.
Meanwhile, work continues to plod along on The Cake Bake Shop.
Announced way back in March 2022, The Cake Bake Shop will occupy the space which was formerly home to ESPN Club. ESPN closed permanently back in March 2020.
Changes to the building appear to be a little more substantial than was suggested in original concept art. Over the past 2 years, the building was torn down to supports and essentially re-built.
Within the past several weeks, signage has been installed. However, it does not appear to be close to opening and during our visit, there were no obvious signs of work taking place. Opening timeframe remains unknown.
