The nearly 2-year process of renovating all Disney Vacation Club villas at Disney’s Old Key West Resort is now complete.
The project launched back in the fall of 2017 with buildings 30-33 in the Turtle Pond area. More than 18 months later, Disney concluded the renovations this spring with buildings 11-14. All 531 villas have now been updated.
This update is classified as a large-scale “hard goods” refurbishment which occurs about every 14 years. Disney Vacation Club’s current refurbishment schedule calls for a lighter “soft goods” update after 7 years, primarily featuring changes to floor coverings, wall coverings, linens and upholstery. After an additional 7 years, the hard goods refurbishment again updates many of the same soft goods items along with any necessary changes to the room infrastructure including cabinets and countertops, ceramic tile, new appliances, furniture and more.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is slated to begin a hard goods refurbishment as early as 2019. DVC has not yet released details on a potential start date or project duration.
