Boulder Ridge Refurbishment Still Planned; No Timeline Offered

Disney Vacation Club Senior VP Bill Diercksen recently commented on the long-awaited refurbishment project, but offered no specifics on when it may begin.

In the newest issue of Disney Files Magazine, Diercksen reaffirms that Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is still on the refurbishment schedule but doesn't provide any new details regarding a start or end date.

Each issue of the quarterly magazine features a one-page program update from current leadership. This is Diercksen's first address since replacing form DVC head Terri Schultz back in September 2021. Within a recap of recent villa refreshes, Diercksen had this to say:

"And at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, completely re-imagined Boulder Ridge Villas are in the works, updating everything from furniture and flooring to appliances."

Way back in December 2019, Boulder Ridge was tapped for an update during the 2020 calendar year. The COVID-19 pandemic may have played a role in derailing those plans. However, DVC rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa were all updated in 2021, along with the conclusion of the massive renovation project at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

The Boulder Ridge project was also referenced during the 2021 condo association meeting with no specifics provided.

Boulder Ridge first opened in November 2000. The original DVC refurbishment schedule called for a modest update to villa interiors after 12 years and a more thorough update at 24 years. DVC later amended that schedule to accellerate all resort refurbishments, but only after Boulder Ridge received its limited renovation back in 2014.

DVC has not commented on whether newer amenities like the pull-down Murphy Beds will be implemented as part of the Boulder Ridge project.
