Disney recently announced an update to its policies for Advance Dining Reservations. Previously guests were subject to a $10 per person no-show penalty if they failed to cancel more than 24 hours in advance. The policy has been revised to allow guests to cancel up to 2 hours in advance without penalty.

This new policy applies to most restaurants at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. However there are a number of notable exceptions including:

Disneyland

  • Downtown Disney District restaurants
  • World of Color Dessert Party
  • Princess Breakfast Adventure at Napa Rose
  • Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace

Walt Disney World

  • Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
  • Victoria & Albert's
  • Monsieur Paul

Previous cancellation policies for the above locations remain unchanged.

Dining reservations can be cancelled within the My Disney Experience smartphone app. If a reservation is still within the cancellation window, a "cancel" option will be presented. If there is no cancel option, the app will display a phone number to call to attempt modifications.

Guests are able to make Dining Reservations 60 days in advance. Those with Disney hotel reservations have the advantage of making reservations for their entire length of stay beginning 60 days prior to their scheduled arrival day.
