More BLT villas declared for sales inventory

Bay Lake Tower

Bay Lake TowerLess than 10 weeks after it declared Units for the Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney Vacation Development (DVD) made yet another declaration.

Based on a filing with the Orange County Comptroller, on March 21, 2011, DVD declared 7 Units containing 3 Grand Villas and 6 two-bedroom villas for Disney Vacation Club Members to book using points. The Grand Villas are located on the 14th and 15th floors, and the two-bedroom villas - which consist of 4 lock-off two-bedroom villas and 2 dedicated two-bedroom villas - are located on the 14th floor of the Bay Lake Tower's south wing. This latest declaration adds approximately 222,765 points to the DVC inventory at Bay Lake Tower.

DVD has now declared 96.04% of Bay Lake Tower for the DVC inventory. This means that on any given Use Day Members can book up to but not exceeding 96.04% of the Resort using points. This includes points that are traded out of the DVC system by Members for the Disney Cruise Line, Concierge Collection, RCI, and other exchanges.

Before Disney Vacation Development can sell points to the public, it must declare Units and their points for the DVC inventory. DVD has now declared 214 Units at Bay Lake Tower containing 259 two-bedroom villas and 12 Grand Villas. Still undeclared are 8 two-bedroom villas and 2 Grand Villas. Three of the two-bedroom villas are located on Bay Lake Tower's first floor where DVD has its sales center and the model villas. The rest are located on the 15th and 16th floors.

As of March 22, 2011, DVD has sold about 81.3% of Bay Lake Tower's total points, based on deeds filed and recorded with the Orange County Comptroller. At the current rate of sales, the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort should be sold out by the end of 2011.

Bay Lake Tower declared points

As seen in the chart above, the February Use Year is the most common at Bay Lake Tower.  In comparison, the October Use Year’s point total is currently about one-tenth the size of the February Use Year. Even if DVD assigned all the remaining unused and undeclared Units to other Use Years, the February Use Year will still account for well over a third of the Bay Lake Tower's total points.
